Have you ever wondered who or what is witnessing your thoughts? Is there another awareness watching your conscious mind?

This question, and where this witnessing awareness may be located within the field of consciousness, lingered in my mind for years.

It took me twenty years, but I finally satisfied my own curiosity through a conceptual framework that took shape in October 2026.

The Consciousness Circle Framework

This theoretical framework has been archived as a preprint titled:
Where Am “I”? Identifying the Meta-I as a Dynamic Membrane in Relation to the Conscious Mind, the Subconscious, and the Diffuse-Conscious.

In the preprint, I explored the nature of consciousness and human experience from a practitioner’s perspective, and discussed potential implications on mental health, trauma processing, dream analysis, creative states, and other phenomena.
