Contraindications to Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is safe and non-invasive.
Contrary to popular belief, you cannot be made to do anything against your will, and are fully aware of all that happens.
Even though the conscious mind recedes in the hypnotic state, it is always present in the background to enable one to participate and benefit from the process.
However, contraindications exist. These include:

- Psychiatric conditions which are not stabilized yet (medication titration is ongoing).
- Psychiatric conditions with tendencies or symptoms of hallucination, delusion or paranoia.
- Certain clinically diagnosed medical conditions such as epilepsy, dementia, poorly controlled hypertension, poorly controlled or active asthma, serious heart/lung/brain conditions.
- Patients on certain medications which may cause confusion, paranoia tendencies or mental side effects.
- Pregnancy.
