Ekphrastic 03: The Scream by Edvard Munch

Stop yelling!

I don't want to hear
About how skeletal I look
My bald head or gaping mouth
Or the two dots that barely function as nostrils.

No!

I will not jump into the shallow winding waters
Under the crimson and orange sky
Undulating like bloody rivers overhead.

Because

Look behind me
The two shadowy figures
Are far more ghastly than I look
(For sure)!

(-)

Main figure: Finally! Someone hears me! I may look unattractive, but I am as human as anyone else, sob sob.

I had fun giving the main figure a voice. Maybe you would like to give the two shadowy figures their voices too?
